Field of the invention
The present invention relates to a cooling system of a motor vehicle and a support for front-end module for said motor vehicle and adapted for said cooling system.
State of the art
In general, a cooling system is used in a motor vehicle to cool the fluid necessary for the operation of said motor vehicle. Such a cooling system, located on the front part of a motor vehicle, is part of the front-end module of said vehicle. On the front of the motor vehicle, a flow of air entering the vehicle allows heat exchange with a fluid to cool, thereby cooling said fluid. To allow the exchange of heat between a fluid to be cooled and an air flow, a cooling system of this type comprises at least one inlet and one outlet for said air flow as well as heat exchange elements, comprising among others a heat exchanger, said heat exchange elements being positioned between said inlet and said outlet.
In general, the air entering inside a motor vehicle has a negative influence on the drag coefficient of said vehicle. Said drag coefficient is in fact proportional to the amount of air penetrating into the motor vehicle, said amount of air to be limited in order to optimize the energy consumption of said vehicle.
Cooling systems for a motor vehicle have already been disclosed within the prior art. Said cooling systems comprise a housing for forming a sealed structure between the air inlet and the air outlet of said cooling systems, with the aim of optimizing the heat exchange between the air flow. used within said cooling systems and the fluid to be cooled by said cooling systems.
In the prior art, it is known to assemble an encapsulated cooling system and, following this assembly, to fix said cooling system within a front-end module of a motor vehicle.
In practice, the assembly of a cooling system within a front-end module of a motor vehicle involves fixing said cooling system to the support of said front-end module of said vehicle. As a rule, such a support comprises an upper cross member, a lower cross member and side jambs together forming a frame. Said support of the front-end module is generally made using a resistant material such as steel or any plastic material adapted to comply with the standards imposed by the automotive safety regulations with regard to frontal collisions. between a pedestrian and a motor vehicle.
Alternatively, the front module modules of a motor vehicle, made of a hybrid material comprising a plastic part and reinforcements of metal material, are also known from the prior art. However, such a support structure represents a significant weight within a motor vehicle.
In view of the energy consumption and in order to constantly optimize the operation of the various elements of a motor vehicle, it is necessary to improve the design of a front module module support of said vehicle and the fixing a cooling system of said front panel module support of said motor vehicle while complying with the regulations on automotive safety.
Object of the invention
An object of the present invention is therefore to overcome the disadvantages mentioned above.
Thus, a first object of the invention relates to a cooling system of a motor vehicle comprising heat exchange elements with at least one heat exchanger adapted to allow the exchange of heat between a fluid to be cooled and a flow. of air, said cooling system comprising an inlet for said airflow and an outlet for said airflow and a housing including a sealed structure for encapsulating said heat exchange elements to prevent air leakage between said inlet and said outlet for said air flow, characterized in that the cooling system is adapted to be fixed on the support of a front-end module of a motor vehicle, said support forming, in the assembled position of the cooling system, a part of said waterproof structure.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the support of a front-end module of a motor vehicle comprises an upper cross-member, a lower cross-member and two lateral posts for forming a frame, in which the said frame is adapted to form a portion of said waterproof structure in the assembled position of the cooling system.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the support of a front-end module of a motor vehicle comprises a plastic material.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the cooling system comprises at least one movable shutter structure in which the air inlet is provided by this at least one movable shutter structure.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the cooling system comprises a fan positioned on a cap in which the air outlet is provided by said fan.
A second object of the invention relates to a front-end module for a motor vehicle comprising the cooling system.
A third object of the invention relates to a support for a front-end module of a motor vehicle adapted for the cooling system. Other objectives will appear, if necessary, on reading the present description.

Detailed Description
The purpose of the following description is to explain the invention in a sufficiently clear and complete manner, in particular by means of examples, but in no case should it be considered as limiting the scope of protection to the embodiments. described below.
In the present description, the term "cap" is used which refers to the armature for a fan. The cap, also known by its English name "shroud" is a structure adapted to position the fan and comprises an opening which coincides substantially with the ends of the rotating elements of said fan.
In general, within a motor vehicle, a front-end module is a structural element intended to contain a plurality of devices necessary for the optimal operation of said motor vehicle, such as projectors and a cooling system. At the end of the production of a front-end module of a motor vehicle, it can be assembled directly on said motor vehicle, in particular with elements of the chassis of said vehicle, such as longitudinal members. The front-end module can also be installed on the motor vehicle by assembling with a bumper or a front bumper.
In known manner, the front-end module of a motor vehicle comprises a support for receiving the device necessary for the operation of said vehicle and a bumper beam for protecting said device in the event of a frontal collision.
As a general rule, the support of the front-end module comprises a lower cross-member, lateral posts for said lower cross-member, an upper cross-member at the top of the lateral posts and, optionally, reinforcement arms fixed to the ends of the upper rail and / or lateral amounts. Such a support of the front panel module may comprise different pieces fixed together. This is for example the case when the support of the front panel module is composed of steel elements.
Alternatively, the support of the front panel module can be obtained using a suitable plastic material, made by a molding process. It is also known to use front-end module supports comprising two materials in which the basic structure comprises plastic and in which reinforcements comprise metallic materials.
FIG. 1 represents an exploded view of the cooling system 1 of a motor vehicle according to one embodiment of the invention. The cooling system 1 comprises a support 10 of a front-end module forming the main element and intended to receive and fix the ancillary elements of said cooling system 1 according to the invention. The support comprises an upper crossmember 21, a lower crossmember 22 and two lateral uprights 23, 24. The support 10 is adapted to receive and to allow the fixing of elements necessary for the cooling system 1. For illustrative reasons, some elements are shown in FIG. 1, such as the condenser 11, an upper moving shutter structure 12, a lower movable shutter structure 13.
The cooling system 1 comprises an air / air or air / water heat exchanger 14 within which a heat exchange takes place between a first fluid to be cooled and a flow of air passing through the cooling system 1 according to FIG. .
The cooling system 1 according to Figure 1 also comprises a radiator 15 and a fan 16, both positioned on a cap 17. Furthermore, the cooling system 1 may have sealing elements such as a cover 18.
According to a non-illustrated embodiment, it is possible for the fan 16 to be positioned on the cap 17 and for the radiator 15 to be fixed directly on the support 10.
The cooling system 1 as shown in Figure 1 allows the attachment of the various elements 10 to 18 on the support 10 of the front panel module to form together an encapsulated cooling system. The cooling system 1 is thus provided, thanks to the assembly of the elements 11 to 18, of a box comprising a sealed structure for encapsulating the entire cooling system 1 between an air inlet, formed by the upper and lower movable shutter structures 12, 13, and the air outlet, formed by the fan 16. The effect of the measures described above is that the cooling system 1 according to Figure 1 is provided with a housing or waterproof envelope providing a sealed structure to prevent air leakage between the inlet and the air outlet of said cooling system 1. The housing or the sealed structure is formed by the various elements of the system of 1 which are adapted to form together an envelope or waterproof structure. As a result, all the air entering the cooling system 1 is used for heat exchange, thus optimizing the cooling of a fluid.
According to a first technical effect, the use of penetrating air within the cooling system for heat exchange is optimized, which makes it possible to use a smaller flow of air to cool a quantity of fluid. determined.
According to a second technical effect lies in the fact that the various elements used within the cooling system 1 according to the invention can be undersized compared to cooling systems that do not include the type of housing provided with a sealed structure to prevent leaks.
In addition, within the cooling system 1 as shown in Figure 1, the support 10 of the front panel module is integral with said cooling system 1 according to the invention. In other words, it avoids a construction comprising, firstly, the assembly of a cooling system and, in a second step, the fixing of said system on the front panel module of the motor vehicle.
The cooling system 1 as shown in FIG. 1 is adapted to allow the various elements 11 to 18 to be assembled on the front-face module 10 and thus to obtain the cooling system 1 according to the invention, in which the support 10 front face forms part of the sealed structure around said cooling system 1.
The cooling system 1 as shown in FIG. 1 makes it possible to ensure that the use of the material intended to obtain the support 10 of the front-face module is optimized in that said support offers a dual function making it possible to on the one hand, fixing said front panel module 10 inside a motor vehicle and, on the other hand, using said front panel module 10 to create a structure or sealed envelope around a cooling system 1 of said motor vehicle.
